The Peninsula Bangkok spa by ESPA was created to reflect its geographical location and traditional Thai colonial influences.   Opened in 2006, the spa offers a full-service oasis and deeply personalised spa experience like nowhere else in Bangkok. Winner of the Asia Spa Awards Best New Spa 2007

The Peninsula Hotel Group has chosen ESPA as a partner in the development of its spas.  This 3-storey Thai colonial spa offers a very private and personal experience for each guest. 

ESPA were involved in all seven phases of the project – from concept and design to recruitment, training and completion.  ESPA provides ongoing management services to the spa. 

Based on an ‘Old Thai House’ concept, ESPA worked with designers Henry Leung of Chhada Siembieda Leung to create this authentic and tranquil spa environment.  Fusing traditional Thai elements with contemporary flair, the spa materials used reflect the traditional Thai house concept. This includes red bricks, aged wood teak planking, woven grass, etched glass, as well as uniquely designed Jim Thompson silk fabric and hand-crafted decorations.  Light was also used to highlight features throughout the spa including silk lanterns lining the walkway over water.

Nestled among lush gardens, in a three-storey Thai-colonial building that combines modern touches with traditional charm, the Peninsula Spa features 14 treatment rooms and four suites, two double and two VIP suites, all with ensuite jacuzzi. An added feature of the VIP suites are rain shower, floor-to-ceiling windows and a balcony with sweeping views of the Chao Phraya river.
