Caldarium Laconicum
Traditionally, Caldarium was the hottest room in a Roman bath, where the ancient Romans would bathe in steaming water to detoxify the body. Modern-day spa Caldaria may not have a pool of hot water, but they all utilise the detoxifying power of steam heat. Essential oils are often added for inhalation, which is effective in opening up the sinuses and aiding breathing. The benefits of a Caldarium are to cleanse and detoxify the skin, relax the mind and body in preparation for treatments and help with respiratory conditions.
