experiences. ESPA at Castello del Nero, a five- star, 10,000-square
foot spa, is a destination in itself for retreat and rejuvenation
offering therapeutic treatments and relaxation.
The spa is located within the Castello del Nero Hotel, a 12th
century castle now fully restored into an elegant modern day sanctuary
and a member of elite travel company The Leading Hotels of the World it
is a stone-throw from the historic cities of Florence and Siena,
surrounded by 700 acres of rolling Tuscan hills.
The Spa was designed by ESPA and Alain Mertens, the famed Interior
Designer. At Castello del Nero, ESPA conceptualised the indigenous and
holistic philosophy, taking the spa through pre-open, recruitment,
post-graduate training of advanced ESPA treatments and now provides
on-going management of the Spa.
In contrast to the grandeur and classic beauty of the castle, the
spa took a contemporary approach creating minimalist interiors allowing
guests to commune with nature. An indoor/outdoor connection is created
with the colour choice of olive and natural wood that blends seamlessly
through walls of glass to the foliage beyond.
